# Microsoft Teams

> Connect Microsoft Teams to Sidecar

## 1. Grant permissions

1. Go to the **Settings** page in Sidecar, select the **Microsoft Teams** tab.
2. Press `Connect now`.
3. A new tab will open requesting permissions. This is only used to get your tenant ID.
4. After you accept, you will be redirected back to Sidecar.
5. Select **Return to Integration Page**.

## 2. Install the Sidecar App in Teams

1. Open Teams, select **Apps**, then choose **Manage your apps**.
2. Select **Upload an app**.
3. Choose **Upload a custom app**, then select the `sidecar.zip` file provided by the Sidecar team.
4. After uploading, the Sidecar app will appear in your apps list.
5. Click **Add**, and choose the **General** channel.

  This step only registers your team — the bot will not send notifications to this channel.

## 3. Configure bot notifications

1. Back in the Sidecar app, go to the **Teams** settings.
2. Select the channel where you want the bot to send alerts.
3. Press **Save**.

When a dbt job fails, the bot will send an alert to the configured channel.
