Typical Setup Order

Most teams connect their tools in this order:

Connect your data warehouse

Start with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks. This is where Sidecar discovers your tables, views, and query history.

Connect your transformation layer

Add dbt Cloud or dbt Core so Sidecar can map your models, tests, and lineage.

Connect your BI tool

Add Looker, Metabase, Power BI, Lightdash, or Omni to see dashboard-to-table lineage.

Connect communication tools

Add Slack or Microsoft Teams to enable alerts and thread anchoring.

Connect project management

Add Jira or Linear to create tickets from Slack threads using the Sidecar bot.

You don’t need to connect everything at once. Each integration works independently — add them as your team is ready.
